17 March 2016 – Beehive ACV Update


An appeal against the listing of the Beehive as an asset of community value was made by the owners of the pub Hawthorne leisure. This appeal was heard yesterday 16th March by the First Tier Tribunal at the County Court in Cambridge.

The Friends of the Beehive were represented by two members of the Board of the Horringer Community Pub -Peter Crofts and Justin Adams. A Director of Hawthorne Leisure was present with his barrister. Two representatives from St Edmundsbury Borough Council were present also.

The appeal was heard by a judge experienced in the Localism Act which introduced the concept of ACVs.

We will receive the decision in writing in a few weeks time and will put the outcome on the website.
