The new bells have been rung!

The new St Leonard`s church bells were rung for the first time on Thursday 2nd February 2017, with bell captain Sally Crouch leading the team. The eight bells sounded marvellous and will now be rung as usual before church services and at other significant times.

Visiting teams are very keen to ring our bells as we are the first church in Suffolk to have a recast of eight bells for 87 years.  The Suffolk Guild of Bellringers rang for half an hour on Friday 3rd February and all were delighted.

All are welcome to a special service of Evensong on Sunday 19th March at 3.30pm, at which the Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich will dedicate the new bells.

If you are a bellringer or are keen to learn, come and join us on a Thursday evening.  Contact Sally Crouch (735338).
