St Leonard’s Church

St. Leonard’s Church occupies a commanding position in the centre of  the village, overlooking the village green and the entrance to Ickworth Park.

We are the ancient parish church for Horringer-cum-Ickworth, offering regular, faithful worship in the central tradition of the Church of England.  St Leonard’s has been a sacred place for a thousand years, as demonstrated by its listing in the Domesday Book of 1086.  Today, we are part of the Horringer Benefice, which also encompasses the churches of St Andrew’s Brockley, St Mary’s Westley and St Petronilla’s Whepstead.

As a village church, we aim to cater for all in our worship, which is a mix of the traditional and modern, quiet and all-age.  From October 2017 we will be running regular discussion groups.  All are welcome, and the asking of difficult questions is encouraged.

We have close links with the National Trust’s Ickworth Estate, most of which lies within our parish bounds, including the church of St Mary of which our Rector is keyholder.  We also have strong connections with Ickworth Park Primary School.

Whether you wish to worship with us, or simply come into the church building for some peace and quiet or to look around, we welcome you.
